• A candidate must be a person of Muzaffarnagarn Origin who has migrated from Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Myanmar, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Uganda, Vietnam, Zaire, or Zambia with an intention of permanently settling in Muzaffarnagar. 

Age Limit :

• Candidates must be minimum of 21 years and a maximum of 32 years of age as of August 1, 2021.
• A candidate must be born not earlier than August 2, 1989, and not later than August 1, 2000. 

 There is also age relaxation of some years for reserved category candidates :

• 5 years – SC/ST
• 3 years – OBC
• 3 years – Defence Services personnel
• 5 years – ex-servicemen including Commissioned Officers and ECPs/SSCOs who have rendered at least 5 years Military Service as of August 1, 2020.

• 5 years – in the case of ECOs/SSCOs
• 5 years – in the case of ECOs/SSCOs who have completed an initial period of assignment of five years of Military Service as of 1 August 2019 and whose assignment has been extended beyond five years and in whose case the Ministry of Defence issues a certificate that hey can apply for civil employment and that they will be released on three months notice on the selection from the date of receipt of the offer of appointment.

Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a graduation degree in any stream from any university established under the act passed by the Parliament of Muzaffarnagar or State legislature. Candidates who are in the last year of graduation and awaiting results are also eligible to apply for IAS preliminary exam. However, such candidates need to submit proof of passing the requisite exam at the time of applying for the Main exam. The applications for the IAS Main exam are usually released in the month of July/August.

Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards given in the Civil Services examination rules gazette notification.

Number of Attempts in IAS Exam: All candidates are allowed a maximum of six attempts in the IAS exam.
